    1977 Labs Group

    Foundation of the Labs Group and opening of the first Cardiolab unit in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro. The beginning of a new era in diagnostics. Emphasis on ultrasound, two-dimensional echocardiography and physicians dedicated exclusively to exams.

  2. 1982

    1982 to 1988 | Advances in diagnostics

    Expansion with focus in the area of noninvasive diagnosis in cardiology.
    Pioneering release in the country: Doppler, color doppler and tests such as transeophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography.
    Opening of new Labs Cardiolab units in other locations in Rio de Janeiro.

  3. 1989

    1989 to 1992 | Multiple exams

    Implementation of the concept “all exams in one place”.
    Inaugurated the first mega-unit in Botafogo, in a 6-storey building, ready to perform multiple exams.
    Inauguration in Rio de Janeiro of the first magnetic resonance equipment with closed magnet.

  4. 1993

    1993 to 1997 | Diagnosis continues to advance

    Important advances are made in the area of diagnosis.
    Launch of the first range digital cameras, which evolved into SPECT, gated SPECT and the modern dual-head equipment of nuclear medicine and myocardial scintigraphy.
    More services: opening of new mega-units in other parts of the city.

    1998 | Innovative hospitals

    Expansion of activities and investment in the hospital area.
    The first hospital in Rede D’Or has been inaugurated — Barra D’Or Hospital is a revolution in the concepts of architecture and medical hospitality.

  6. 2000

    2000 | Copa D’Or

    The concept of hospital hospitality and high technology in medical services arrives in the southern part of Rio de Janeiro, with an area of 1,000 sq.m. for emergency care. Copa D’Or Hospital is the only hospital with helipad in the region.

  7. 2001

    2001 | Quinta D’Or

    From a former hospital in Quinta da Boa Vista comes the modern and well-equipped Quinta D’Or Hospital, to serve the population of downtown and the northern part of Rio de Janeiro.
    The first fully digital radiology was implemented at Quinta D’Or and served as a reference for implementation in the other hospitals of the network.

    2004 | Expansion continues

    The portfolio reaches 600 beds available, between suites and apartments, for intensive care, semi-intensive care, cardiology, neonatal, pediatric, emergency and day-hospital.
    More than 12,300 patients are treated in emergency care monthly and about 1,700 surgeries and 2,300 hospitalizations are performed.
    Rede D’Or Hospitals are already a strong presence throughout the city, combining excellence in hospital services and high technology in diagnostics and laboratory tests.

  9. 2005

    2005 | Scope

    New strategic vision drives the company’s expansion.
    The cutting edge in diagnostic medicine, medical excellence and the tradition of the Labs brand form the most complete network of diagnostic medicine in Rio de Janeiro — laboratory, image and hospitals.
    Coverage and service characterize this new moment. New diagnostic units are inaugurated in several neighborhoods in the city, such as Barra da Tijuca, Jacarepaguá, Copacabana, Tijuca, Ilha do Governador, Centro, Vila da Penha, Ipanema and Jardim Botânico, with services, modern infrastructure and ease of access.
    The diversity in diagnostic tests is complemented by the clinical pathology, developed for eight years in the complexity of the hospital environment.
    Accredited by ISO 9000 since 2002, the laboratory medicine sector receives new investments in computerized systems and advances in agility and communication.

  10. 2006

    2006 | Accreditation

    D’Or hospitals begin Hospital Accreditation processes, in which health institutions are voluntarily evaluated by external agencies to determine whether they meet world-designed standards of safety and quality in patient care.
    The Hospital Oeste D’Or, former Joari Hospital, becomes part of the Rede D’Or São Luiz.

  11. 2007

    2007 | International recognition

    Copa D’Or Hospital is the first private hospital in Rio de Janeiro certified by JCI (Joint Commission International).

    Barra D’Or and Quinta D’Or hospitals obtain level 3 accreditation from ONA (National Accreditation Organization) and go for international certification. The accreditation process begins by Accreditation Canada, a Canadian certificator.

    Rede D’Or also reaches other areas in Rio de Janeiro and abroad, in partnership with other hospitals for which it carries the D’Or standard.

    The expansion reaches Pernambuco, with the hospitals Esperança and São Marcos, in Recife, and Prontolinda, which became Esperança Olinda.

  12. 2008

    2008 | Accreditation

    Acquisition of Bangu Hospital, which offers 24-hour adult emergency care, emergency orthopedic care and surgical care. The hospital has five medical offices, focus on surgical patients and different specialties.
    Barra D’Or and Quinta D’Or hospitals are internationally certified by Accreditation Canada.

  13. 2009

    2009 | Rios D’Or

    The Rios D’Or Hospital is the fourth hospital unit of the network. It fills an important gap in the Jacarepaguá area, west of Rio de Janeiro, with an excellent location that allows easy access and quick service.

  14. 2010

    2010 | Hospital and Maternity Brazil

    High complexity hospital in the city of Santo André-SP. Founded in 1970 and acquired by Rede D’Or, it offers the quality of the best hospitals in São Paulo. It has 350 beds, 18 operating rooms, four for deliveries and one for robot-guided surgeries. It has 30,000 sq.m. of built area, more than 2,000 employees and a clinical staff of 400 physicians.

    Hospital São Luiz Morumbi

    Opened in 2000, became part of the Rede D’Or in 2010. It has 200 beds on six floors, performs 20,000 visits per month in the adult and children’s emergency room, has a complete diagnostic center with high-tech equipment and a surgical center with 12 rooms for high complexity procedures, including robotic surgery.

  15. 2011

    2011 | São Paulo and Rio

    The Hospital Assunção was founded in 1972 to offer quality health care in the Greater ABC region of São Paulo. The high standard of services provided and respect for life first led to the construction of a success story along with the growth and development of the region. Acquired in 2011 by Rede D’Or, it has 135 beds, 41 of which are ICU beds, and specialties such as medical clinic, cardiology, neurosurgery, clinical neurology, oncology, pediatrics and rheumatology.

    Inauguration of the Norte D’Or hospitals, in Cascadura, and Niterói D’Or, in the metropolitan region of Rio de Janeiro. They offer health services of excellence to the public of these regions.

    The São Luiz Hospitals and Maternity Hospitals, located in São Paulo, in the neighborhoods of Morumbi, Itaim and Anália Franco, join the network.
    Transfer of Labs D’Or units to Fleury group, with Rede D’Or remaining close to the management of the business, of which it has 15% equity interest.

  16. 2012

    2012 | Federal District and São Paulo

    Acquisition of hospitals Santa Luzia and Coração do Brasil, in Brasilia.
    In the state of São Paulo, the company takes control of Vivalle Hospital in São José dos Campos and Hospital Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, now Hospital São Luiz – Jabaquara, and the Children’s Hospital, also in Jabaquara neighborhood.

  17. 2013

    2013 | Caxias and Campo Grande

    Inauguration of the first unit in Baixada Fluminense, the Caxias D’Or Hospital. It is the third largest in the group in Rio de Janeiro, with 220 beds (80 intensive care) and adult and pediatric emergency services.
    In the same year was re-inaugurated Oeste D’Or, in Campo Grande, formerly known as Joari Hospital. The unit changes its name, has 200 beds and has a capacity for 13,000 emergency visits per month.

  18. 2014

    2014 | Hope in Pernambuco

    Rede D’Or São Luiz, which in Pernambuco owns Esperança and São Marcos Hospitals, inaugurates the Esperança Olinda Hospital, in the Casa Caiada neighborhood.
    The new development takes advantage of the structure of the old Prontolinda Hospital, which had been acquired by the group, and is now configured as another unit, which has an adult emergency, cardiology, hemodynamics center, operating room, ICU and hospitalization wards, with a total of 237 beds, as well as an auditorium and cafeteria with capacity for 120 people.
    There are 11,000 sq.m. distributed over seven floors with wide spaces and a beautiful panoramic view of the sea of Olinda.

  19. 2015

    2015 | Expansion focus

    New incorporations follow the business plan, which in five years aims to expand its 4,000 beds to 8,000, through more investments in health, technology and quality care to customers.

    IFOR Hospital

    Founded in 1968, it joins Rede D’Or São Luiz as the main reference unit in orthopedics and traumatology of São Bernardo do Campo, in São Paulo.

    The team at IFOR Hospital is widely known for its knowledge and experience in orthopedic services. Another highlight of IFOR is the respected program of medical residency in general orthopedics and other orthopedic specialties, such as knee, shoulder, spine, hip and foot.

    SinoBrasileiro Hospital and Maternity

    Founded in 2002, the hospital is a reference in the Osasco region and the only one in the city with ONA certification. It makes 300,000 visits annually and has 145 beds between hospital, maternity and adult and neonatal ICU apartments. The emergency room treats high complexity cases, medical clinic, orthopedics and gynecology. In addition to the various available exams, it has hemodynamics and state-of-the-art endoscopy centers.

    Hospital Villa Lobos

    A general Hospital with strong high complexity capabilities, with 134 beds. Founded in 2007, in Mooca, east of São Paulo, it has ONA accreditation. The emergency room receives cases of high complexity, medical clinic and orthopedics, with the support of a complete and modern diagnostic center for sophisticated exams and procedures.

    Bartira Hospital and Maternity

    Located in Santo André, in the state of São Paulo, it has modern surgical center, nursery and hemodynamics services. All rooms have a patient monitoring system.

    Hospital Santa Helena

    Located in the north sector, in Brasília, the unit is a reference in the Federal District and has more than 45 years of existence. The acquisition was completed on December 2015. The hospital is certified by ONA.

  20. 2016

    2016 | Saint Joseph Memorial

    Founded in 1989 and incorporated into Rede D’Or São Luiz in 2016, the Memorial São José Hospital Complex in Recife, Pernambuco, has six buildings with state-of-the-art equipment and one of the most complete diagnostic centers in Brazil. Patients can perform a full array of exams and procedures in the hospital.

    CopaStar

    5-star Hospital CopaStar opens in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro. Developed with the concept of 5-star services, professionals and technology.

  21. 2017

    2017 | Hospital and Maternity São Luiz – São Caetano

    Rede D’Or São Luiz inaugurates its first greenfield in the state of São Paulo. It quickly becomes an important hospital in the ABC region of São Paulo, with state-of-the-art services, high standard care, qualified professionals and an integral focus on the patient. It occupies a 15-floor building and offers several services, such as general hospital, maternity, intensive care unit (ICU), gynecology and obstetrics, ambulatories and cardiology center.

    Hospital Real D’Or

    First unit of rede D’Or São Luiz with exclusive care in Maternity and Pediatrics. Located in Bangu, Rio de Janeiro, it has a humanized delivery room, surgical center, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, adult ICU, pediatric hospitalization unit and obstetric hospitalization units with a nursery for each floor.

    Clínica São Vicente

    The unit located in Gávea, Rio de Janeiro, was acquired by the company in 2017. With comfort and safety, it offers 24-hour emergency services, hospitalization, ICU, day-hospital and diverse range of surgeries.

  22. 2018

    2018 | New units

    The group expanded to São Luís (Maranhã) and to Salvador (Bahia).

  23. 2019

    2019 | Expansion of Star concept

    The group continued to expand its reach and presence. It acquired its first hospital in Sergipe (in the capital city, Aracaju). It also incorporated three new units in Rio de Janeiro and another in São Paulo. Two new hospitals of the Star brand were completed, in Brasilia and São Paulo; and inaugurated the expansion of Niterói D’Or, in Niterói (Rio de Janeiro). In recognition of the isolated leadership in the segment of private hospitals, Rede D’Or received the award for Best Company in the health area in the Estadão ‘Empresas Mais’ award; Company of the year in the ‘Maiores & Melhores’ ranking of Exame magazine; and the title of most valuable Company in the ‘Valor 1000’ award, by Valor Econômico newspaper.

  24. 2020

    2020 | Entry in new regions

    In 2020, we acquired 4 hospitals in different regions of the country: Hospital Aliança, in Salvador, Bahia; São Carlos, in Fortaleza, Ceará; Santa Cruz, in Curitiba, Paraná; and São Lucas Hospital de Clínicas, in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro. According to Forbes, we are among the 5 biggest donor companies in Brazil.

  25. 2021

    2021 | Acquisition and expansion

    2021 is a milestone of important expansions, with the acquisition of 15 new hospitals. There is a strong expansion of units in the state of São Paulo with the Hospitals América, Central de Guaianases, Clínicas Antônio Afonso, Serra Mayor, Orthoservice and Novo Atibaia. One more unit in Rio de Janeiro: Balbino, in the neighborhood of Olaria and in Bahia, with Santa Emília, in Feira de Santana. And the milestone of Rede D’Or’s arrival in the state of Minas Gerais, with Hospital Biocor; in Mato Grosso do Sul, with Proncor; and in Paraíba, with the Nossa Senhora das Neves and Clim units. We also won important recognitions from Newsweek, Valor 1000, Veja Rio, Meio e Mensagem, Healthcare Management, O Globo and Aberje.

  26. 2022

    2022 | Expansion continues

    In 2022, we expanded our operations in Mato Grosso do Sul, with Hospital Santa Marina. We arrived in Maceió, Alagoas, with Hospital Arthur Ramos. We continued our expansion strategy in São Paulo, with the acquisition of Hospital Santa Isabel and also in Bahia, with the Aeroporto unit.
